For visitors to Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka, planned by people who live here

Private tours with your own chauffeur guide, from four days to a fortnight. Tell us the dates and the pace. We do the rest from our office in Colombo.

How it works

Ceylon Carriers Travels is a Colombo company that has planned Sri Lanka for visitors since 1973. Every tour below is private: your own air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking chauffeur guide, half-board hotels and airport transfers both ways.

Pick a route, then change anything you like. Most guests do. The four-day tour is where first visits start. The ten-day circuit is for people who want the whole island in one go.

Questions visitors ask us

Do I need a visa to visit Sri Lanka?

Most visitors apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorisation before they fly. The rules differ by nationality and change from year to year, so tell us your passport when you enquire and we will confirm exactly what applies to you.

When is the best time to visit Sri Lanka?

There is always a good coast. December to March suits the west and south coasts and the hill country. April to September favours the east coast around Trincomalee and Arugam Bay. The cultural triangle works all year round.

Are your tours private or in a group?

Private. Each tour runs in your own air-conditioned vehicle with an English-speaking chauffeur guide, so the pace and the stops are yours. Nobody else is on the itinerary unless you bring them.

Can I change a tour?

Yes. Every route on this page is a starting point. Swap hotels, add nights, drop a city or add whale watching in Mirissa between November and April. Send us your dates and we will rebuild it around you.

How do I get a price?

Message us on WhatsApp with your dates, the number of travellers and the route you like. Prices are per person on double sharing and depend on the season and the hotels you choose, so we quote each trip properly instead of printing one number that may not fit yours.
